Comm_Store
UMBC’s Comm_Store works in conjunction with the United States Postal Service to make sending and receiving mail on campus a quick and easy task.
All shipping prices are the same as USPS, there is no extra fee to use the mailing service at the Comm_Store. The Comm_Store is a cashless operation and only accepts money on the campus card. Services such as faxing, scanning, copying and printing are also offered at the Comm_Store for a small fee. Stamps are sold in any denomination, so whether you need one or one hundred, we’ve got you covered.

For your convenience, the Comm_Store carries boxes of all sizes, envelopes, bubble mailers, and much more. Our staff will work with you to find the best packaging for your items.

Handle refers to the handling and transport of the box to the selected shipper. It applies to boxes exceeding 2 pounds.
Pack refers to materials used to protect the contents or fill in empty space, such as bubble wrap, foam, and newsprint.
Prep refers to materials such as kraft paper, tape, mailing and caution labels, etc. used to prepare a box for shipping.

Personal Mail Box
Similar to a PO box, the Comm_Store offers personal mailboxes or PMB’s that can be rented out monthly for any duration of time. Whether you need a mailbox for one month, one semester, or an entire year. Faculty, staff, residential students, commuters, and grad students are all eligible to open a PMB. With a PMB, all of your mail will be sent here to the Comm_Store and can be picked up anytime Monday – Friday 8:30am to 4:00pm. Opening a PMB incurs a one time $5.00 activation fee plus the payment for your first month. You will be given your own secure mailbox with a unique combination.
Small PMB’s cost $4.00 a month
Medium PMB’s cost $6.50 a month
Additional Services
Faxing documents can be done at the Comm_Store at the price of $0.50 per page domestic and $1.00 per page international. Cover sheets can be provided to you at no charge. To receive a fax, there is a $1.00 flat fee.
Scanning documents to a computer is another service offered at the Comm_Store. The cost to scan is $0.50 a page.
Copying and printing at the Comm_Store is fast and cheap. It’s only $0.10 a page to copy or print a page. No color printing, only black and white.
